🚀 Quick Start — Audiobook Web App

1. Install Dependencies

npm install
cd src/webapp && npm install
cd ../..

2. Start the Backend API & Asset Proxy Server (Terminal 1)

npm run server

Runs on http://localhost:3001 — automatically fetches and caches story scripts, background images (/cache/bg/), character sprites (/cache/sprite/), and OST tracks (/cache/bgm/).

3. Launch the Visual Novel Web App (Terminal 2)

npm run webapp

Open http://localhost:5173 in your browser to start reading or listening!

🎙️ AI Voice Acting Setup (GPT-SoVITS)

To enable character voice synthesis for dialogue lines:

1. Follow the full setup guide in docs/TTS_SETUP.md.
2. Run the GPT-SoVITS inference API server on port 9880:

   # Example Windows PowerShell AMD GPU launch
   .\runtime\python.exe api.py -s SoVITS_weights\amiya.pth -g GPT_weights\amiya.ckpt -p 9880
   

3. Pre-generate audio for any story chapter:
